My Program -
My program is small, loving, nurturing, and home like. I specialize in Infancy through Pre-K age group. I like to keep a smaller crew to make sure to give individual attention. I aim for my group size to be 5-7 kids.
I work with parents to meet all of the children's needs, social, emotional, and developmental. I offer a relaxed play school style curriculum with lots of exploring and self discovery and really focus in on those social and emotional development and help kids become independent problem solvers with self regulation in tough situations. May-August we concentrate on being outside and exploring and learning through sensory and experience. I believe kids learn best through play, fun activities, experience, watching, seeing and participation. My main inspirations are sensory work with lots of proprioceptive movements, Montessori, and Waldorf play. That being said I think our circle time, table time, calendar time, and directed activities are equally important. I try to find a good balance between these things and keep parents in the loop with what we are working on as a group, and what we are working on for each individual as well. We modify our days to make sure our activities are developmentally appropriate for all children at all stages. This is a very laid back program and we modify when needed. If the kids want to skip an activity, we do, or if they are deep in pretend play we will post pone our next activity. Play is important and definitely the #1 most important element to this program. We will learn while we play!
I use the Brightwheel app for phones and tablets to stay connected during the day. The app offers a look at my calendar, personal messaging, and to keep track of what we are doing day to day. I will also upload pics on occasion to the app. I also have a Facebook secret group where I share pictures and videos of the kids during the day if you wish to participate in that. I have a public Facebook page where I occasionally share pictures of our activities if you wish to check that out please click on the link below.
With a smaller setting and fewer kids it truly is a homelike environment full of love and the kids really do bond! Kids like to sit on my lap and have hugs and give the babies lots of attention. Snuggles are my absolute favorite thing in the world and I hold the babies way too much!
So if you are looking for a homelike, loving, relaxed, small setting with home school style learning this is the right program for your family! If you are looking for a larger setting with lots of kids and centers and a separate daycare space and more structured this is probably not your best fit. Albeit we do follow pretty closely to our typical daily routine.
1 area that is sort of unique in my program, is my passion for low toxin environment and natural elements of play and household cleaners ect. I serve many organic foods and local farm raised meats and never antibiotics in our meats. I am very allergy friendly and well understand food intolerances ect. My household cleaners are all natual as is my laundry dertergent and I never use dryer sheets. I use low toxin products for sunscreen and bug spray when needed and usually serve whole foods, non gmo and organic when I can.

About Me-My name is Randi. My first job was at 15 years old working at a childcare center, Play works out of Prior Lake. I worked in both the infant rooms and with the Toddlers. I then proceeded to Nanny for 6 years. I went on to do hair for almost 10 years. In May of 2012 my husband and I bought a house in Shakopee, which is where I am originally from. In June of 2012 we discovered after years of trying we were expecting our first child! Our daughter was born in Feb 2013. I tried to return to work full time when she was 12 weeks old. At that time I realized I wanted to follow my dreams and take the plunge and open my own in home daycare. I have great passion for child care and have a very high expectation of what it needs to be. I feel that being a mother and childcare is my destiny and certainly my passion. I'm a pretty laid back kind of person, and I love natural living, and health care. On my time off I like just hanging out with family and friends and getting out of the house :) whether it be playdates, shopping, camping, travel or just hanging with friends or family.

My Mission -
To be an environment parents can feel confident about their children’s care.To be a place children come to enjoy, play, and learn. I want to provide the essentials to our future. Our kids are our future, and their daily activity should nurture their future. Lets make it successful together, parents and provider. I am not looking to just provide daycare. I am looking to provide excellent daycare that makes a difference in the lives of our children for the better.
